Our life begins new and fresh when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior – not when we get a change of status.
Meaning, we can falsely assume that it’s when our “if onlys” and “when onlys” happen is when our life truly begins. For example, if only I were married, or if only my spouse were different, or if only we had more money, or different job, or lived in a different place. If and when this, or that happens, then my life will begin and I can truly live and love.
However, where we are right now is our reality, and when we accept Jesus, we begin to learn to surrender these if and when beliefs, and learn to live, love, believe, and hope in our present situations.
This is living in the freedom faith offers as we learn to trust and believe God is truly always good and always with us.
It is God, not status, that defines us, and our life. This is a liberating mindset and release valve for the stresses and pressures of our heart when we begin to walk this out in our present situations, circumstances, struggles, relationships, and successes.
It can be challenging to embrace the present life as our life, because we may long for something different. However, when we are present to experience our current days fully, and not distracted by thoughts of alternate realities and comparisons, we can begin to realize the beauty and blessings right before us today. Rather than miss them due to always looking past today and into tomorrow.
“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes”. Matthew 6:34
