Discouragement is something many of us will face this year. It comes from unexpected places, and seemingly out of nowhere at times.
I find that when I get distracted, or too focused on my needs, discouragement typically begins to seep in.
It’s most likely because I get my eyes on the “worthless” things in life, but thankfully, this sense of discouragement also gets my attention to return my focus to God.
Perhaps my prayer life and time in God’s Word gets rushed and as a result it’s like my Spirit is running on fumes.
My car won’t run unless I fill the tank. Likewise, my life just doesn’t work right, when my Spirit is running on empty.
Also, we are in a spiritual battle and the attack is real and discouragement and insecurity are powerful weapons our adversary uses quite often against us.
Thankfully, though, those who know Jesus, have a greater power living within us Who has already overcome. Yet, we need to invest the time to be with Him.
Any relationship requires time and as we do this through prayer, reading His word, praise, and fellowship, He refreshes our soul, renews our Spirit and helps us continue the good fight in faith.
Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
Thank you for the reminder and encouragement!
