Welcome to CareerCall!

Welcome to CareerCall!  In addition to sharing faith-based books, we hope this international blog and devotional will provide encouragement to all believers in their primary career and calling to fulfill the great commission within our homes, the church, the marketplace and amidst a watching world.

There was a time my life was filled with blind ambition and grand dreams. The problem was they were primarily for myself – more power, more promotion, more possessions, more pleasure. The result of this self-absorbed focus was success by some standards, but failure in areas that mattered most. For my health was terrible, my family was neglected and my soul was malnourished. My realization to this slow fade sent me crashing to my knees seeking God’s help and rescue from myself and blindness to what truly matters.

As always, God proved faithful and through my surrender to Him, He began restoring what was being lost. He also expanded my dreams to reach beyond myself.

Today, although clearly not perfect, my desire is to pursue God’s dreams and to be poured out for His pursuits over my own. My hope is that you will be encouraged through this blog and our books. My prayer is that by sharing my testimony, others may gain reassurance that it is never too late with God for new beginnings. Dreams are good, but they become great when they reach beyond ourself and ultimately promote God’s agenda over our own – this includes our work, our family, our finances, and all we have been given and seek to do.

Below is a quote by Oswald Chambers from his daily devotional, My Utmost For His Highest, to further illustrate this point and add encouragement to your day –

“We have no right to judge where we should be put, or to have preconceived notions as to what God is fitting us for. God engineers everything; wherever He puts us, our one great aim is to pour out a whole-hearted devotion to Him in that particular work. ‘Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.’ God is responsible for our lives, and the one great keynote is reckless reliance upon Him.”

I’m a big Oswald Chambers fan. I heard your name referenced by our pastor recently in our men’s forum. Well done on the blog!
